Collaboration expands access to Roy Farms’ hops, enhances customer experience, and accelerates joint breeding and product innovation.
YAKIMA, WA & WOODBURN, OR, April 23, 2025— Effective May 5, 2025, Roy Farms will transition its small and mid-size brewery direct hop sales to Crosby Hops, becoming a preferred strategic supply partner to the Oregon-based grower and merchant. This move brings Roy Farms’ legacy of quality and efficiency into Crosby’s robust portfolio and streamlined customer experience—enhancing access, selection, and service for small and mid-sized brewers globally.
The two companies will also combine their hop breeding efforts to accelerate the development and commercialization of new varieties—building on proven cultivars like Azacca® and Adeena®, along with a promising pipeline of genetic material in both Oregon and Washington. In addition, they will collaborate on the creation of innovative hop products, expanding on the foundation of Crosby’s patented CGX® technology to meet evolving brewer needs and emerging market trends.
“This streamlined approach to serving small and mid-sized craft brewers plays to our respective strengths and creates mutual benefit by positioning Roy Farms as an efficient, scalable sourcing partner to Crosby Hops,” said Mike Roy, fifth-generation grower and CEO of Roy Farms. “It empowers both teams to stay highly competitive in a rapidly evolving market. Together, we’re strengthening our position as independent growers while driving innovation and fostering a more sustainable, collaborative future for the hop industry.”
How This Partnership Benefits Brewers:
“This collaboration is about two independent, purpose-driven hop growers and brands recognizing a larger opportunity to shape the future of the hop industry together. By aligning where it makes sense and preserving our autonomy where it matters most, we’re able to offer brewers expanded access, efficiency, accelerated innovation, and a strong sense of connection to the farms behind their hops. This is a new chapter rooted in trust, built for impact and speed, and driven by a shared vision for where craft is headed next,” commented Blake Crosby, CEO of Crosby Hops.
As part of the transition, Crosby Hops will welcome two additional team members from Roy Farms. Jason Weissberg will serve as Crosby Hops’ Key Account Manager – Mid-Atlantic and Gavin Lubbe as an Account Manager.
